Hope For The Day’s second annual Humboldt Mile, presented by Dark Matter Coffee and 3Run2 Running Club, is a USATF certified, chip-timed one mile race that will take place on Saturday, May 20, 2017 in Humboldt Park.

This event honors mental health awareness month with 100% of the proceeds benefiting Hope For The Day’s Proactive Suicide Prevention programs.

Event Itinerary
A. 8:00 AM: Weather determination: Based on Chicago Park District’s discretion we will determine if we...

-->Start race on time at 10AM
-->Delay 1st step off until 11AM
-->Cancel the event outright, which at this time seems highly unlikely as there are showers indicated for the morning but little to suggest full on lightning and/or thunderstorms.
**We will send out immediate notifications via text, social media, and email**

B. 8:30 AM: Check In Table & Nike Bag Check opens
-->If you haven’t picked up your bib yet this is where you need to be.
-->If you have your bib you can show up closer to step off time
-->When you arrive remember that you can chill out by the start line or at the boathouse where food will be available.

C. 9:45 AM: Racers prepare with "Wave 1" Load in

D. 10:00 AM-10:45 AM: Wave 1-3 Step off

F. 10:30 AM–1:30PM: Post Race Activities

Weather Plan:
We have several plans in the event of adverse weather conditions. Please reference your event map.

On your event map the Humboldt Park Boathouse and Cafe area will be available for shelter while waiting. They are located on Humboldt Blvd ¼ mile south of the Starting line.

In the event of adverse conditions during the race: We will call a 30 min delay, all parties who intend to wait should take shelter at the Boathouse. Speak with our course marshals (in bright Yellow shirts) for any directions or assistance.

In the event of adverse conditions after 11:30 AM: We will call it a day and commence tear down if weather seems like it will persist.
Weather stoppages will be signaled by Air Horn (3 toots in a row).
